Letter to the Editor May 17, 2013, opinion by Ed Huber.
In the game of baseball three strikes and you’re out. Could the same hold true for our current government or will the feckless voters send them back for more?
As I write this letter there’s a trio of exigencies being juggled by the most corrupt bunch of thugs that ever swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
The first one that comes to mind is the granting of Asylum to Muslim Terrorists. Ten years ago, the Tsarnaev family was granted political asylum in the US. For the next ten years family members made frequent visits back to the country they fled from at will and, with the blessing of our rapacious government. Our Government received countless warnings from foreign governments about one member in particular and even learned that the Saudi government had refused a visa to this same family member. After a botched investigation by the FBI nothing was done. A month ago two members of the family set off pressure cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon as an act of Muslim terrorism.
To show his gratitude to the American people for voting him into office, and prove once and for all what a wonderful person he is Obama’s pushing to allow 11 million illegal aliens to remain in the US and eventually be granted citizenship. Obama, and the rest of the thugs in Washington are bending over backwards to allow illegal’s access to America.
To show how fair minded and compassionate he is, Obama with a demonstration of his war on Christians, has targeted the Romeike family for deportation. This family fled Germany in 2008 because the German government outlawed homeschooling and was about to arrest the parents and make the children wards of the state. In 2010 the Romeikes were granted asylum by immigration judge Lawrence O. Burman. The family settled in rural Tennessee and began homeschooling their children so they could teach them Christian values along with their lessons. The family believed that they had found a new home that accepted them and their Christian faith and life was good. With millions of illegal’s in our nation and thousands voting illegally you would think our government would be too busy to worry about one lone family, here legally, and causing no problems. You would be dead wrong. In 2012 Eric Holder appealed the immigration asylum status of the German family and requested that the family be deported back to Germany, where they would face charges for their homeschooling. The administration argued that Romeikes family problems in Germany were insufficient to allow them to be granted asylum in the US. Obama’s people claimed that although the parents face possible arrest and the loss of their children if they returned to Germany, this was not sufficient persecution to warrant being granted permission to stay in America. On April 23, 2013, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in the case and recently a three judge panel ruled unanimously to revoke the family’s asylum status which would mean their certain deportation back to German persecution. In their decision, the court refused to acknowledge that the persecution of German homeschoolers for their religious and philosophical differences with the government qualified as actual persecution under the US asylum laws.
Amazingly, there are still brain dead voters defending this specious government. I still see the bumper stickers and hear the chatter. When will we open our eyes and say we’ve had enough?
