Judy Ligrnetta : Obituary

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Judy Ligrnetta, age 72 of Blairsville who passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Mrs. Ligrnetta was born in Atlanta on April 12, 1941 to the late Roy & Carrie Jenkins Lyons. She had a protective and nurturing nature. Which is why she enjoyed serving with the Dekalb County Police Dept. as a public safety officer and also as a CNA for a nursing home. She valued education and went back to school at age 40 to earn her GED. Judy approached the world with a strong Christian faith. Judy always said, “place your troubles in God’s hands. Love and trust in Him with all your heart because He is the only one you have to answer to.” Judy and her husband, Frank moved to Blairsville 19 years ago to enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains. She loved tubing in Helen, camping, riding around looking at the mountains and watching the local parades from her front porch steps. She was proud of her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them especially around the holidays. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Camp; 2 grandsons, Kevin Camp & Matthew Patrick, her parents, and a brother.

She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: her loving husband of 23 years, Frank Ligrnetta; daughter, Joy David; daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Tom Searcy; son, Joe Camp; son & daughter-in-law, Ken & Karen Camp; sisters, Ann Mitchell, Jeanette Dickson and Susan Farris; and brother, Thomas Lyons. 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also share in her legacy.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2013 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Kyle Caudell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the start of the service. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Eddie Camp, Kyle Camp, Cody Camp, Wesley Murphy, Ryan Spivey, Justin Morris and Jimmy Taylor. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens.
