Death on Windy Ridge under Investigation

Woman in mid to late twenties found dead in Fannin County.Saturday afternoon there was a call made to the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office by Ricky Killian to report Rhonda Dowell missing. Fannin Deputies responded to a residence off Windy Ridge in Blue Ridge and took the missing person’s report. Shortly thereafter there was another call placed to the Sheriff’s office by a neighbor reporting a body found at the bottom of the Windy Ridge property.
According to Chief Deputy Keith Bosen of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office when authorities returned they found the body of Ms. Rhonda Dowell deceased. Bosen said he believed Dowell to be in her mid to late twenties. The GBI are currently working the case and now waiting on the medical examiner to perform an autopsy to determine cause of death.
Authorities questioned Ricky Killian and others and there is a pending investigation at this time. Killian is currently in custody on unrelated charges. FYN will update as soon as additional information becomes available.
