Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Donald J. Garrett, age 72, of Marietta, Georgia, who passed away early Friday morning, March 8, 2013, in Wellstar Community Hospice in Austell, Georgia.
Mr. Garrett was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, February 7, 1941, a son of the late Jake Martin Garrett and Vonnie Beaver Garrett. He had lived in the Marietta area since 1961, and worked for Lockheed Aircraft Company for 25 years. Donald was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Blairsville, and his wife, Jane, had preceded him in death.
Surviving family members include his sister, Delores Patton; two nieces, Lynn Griffin and Robin Priest; and two nephews, Michael Patton and Marty Patton, all of Marietta.
