Tragedy Strikes Fannin with Wreck

Tragedy struck Fannin County when a collision took place on Highway 515 between the light at Taco Bell and the entrance for Mark 7 Autoplex on March 4, 2013. According to EMS official, Larry Thomas, at 5:18 pm, 911 received a call and emergency personnel were dispatched, arriving on the scene four minutes later. A collision occurred between two vehicles traveling in the southbound lane. The cause of the wreck has yet to be determined but injuries were sustained. FYN has confirmed that two individuals were transported to Fannin Regional Hospital and one was air lifted from the scene of the accident. EMS technicians worked to stabilize the person airlifted for at least 20 minutes before they could be transported. The location for the air lifted patient is unknown by Thomas. Four people involved were not transported.

The condition of the transported individuals is unknown.
