Steve Earl Rhodes : Obituary

Mr. Steve Earl Rhodes, age 63, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at his home.Born in Trenton, MI, he was the son of the late Clyde Earl and Elsie Louise Carson Rhodes. He was a member of the Bethel Church. Mr. Rhodes served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Detroit Edison Electric Company after many years of service. Two siblings also precedes in him death: Stanley Rhodes and Judy Rhodes George.

Survivors include his wife of forty six years; Sarah Rhodes; children, Robert Rhodes of Blue Ridge, GA, Lisa (Tony) Smarh of Westland, MI and Brenda (Curt) Bennett of Taylor, MI; sister, Kathy (Brian) Hughson of Blairsville, GA; grandchildren, Kasara Bonds, Tyler (Christa) Bonds, Kortny Rhodes, Devon Rhodes, Alyssa Rhodes, Brandon Bennett, Ryan Bennett and Chelsie Bennett; great grandchild, Elsie Bonds.

Funeral services will be Thursday February 28th, at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Payne officiating. Music will be provided by the Bethel Church Choir. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Steve Free, Brian Hughson, Tony Rhodes, Buddy Linderman, Tony Queen and Shawn Queen. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m.
