Irene Betsy Henson : Obituary

Mrs. Irene Betsy Henson, age 85, of McCaysville, GA passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.Mrs. Henson was born on January 27, 1928 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Rastus Buchanan and Dessie Bryant Buchanan. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with people, especially her family. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. Henson was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Buchanan, Roy Buchanan, and James E. Buchanan; and a sister, Bonnie Burch.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill Henson of McCaysville; children and spouses, Betty Jo and Kim Corn of McCaysville and Tony and Kathy Henson of Epworth; grandchildren, Ryan Henson, Crystal Chain, Korey Kolburg, and Samantha Henson; great grandchild, Isabella Kolburg; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by The Caylor Family. Interment will follow Pleasant Hill (Hardscrabble) Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
