Flora Stanley : Obituary

Mrs. Flora Louise Stanley, age 81 of Blue Ridge, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her home.Mrs. Stanley was born August 31, 1931 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Emanuel Levi McVey and the late Gladys Marie Thrasher McVey. A member of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ, she was preceded in death by husband, Hugh Stanley, brothers, Bill McVey, Loyd McVey, and Pete McVey, sister, Inez Smith.

Survivors include: son, Raymond (Juanita) Stanley, grandson, Damon Stanley, granddaughter, Natalie Stanley, great-grandson, Julian Stanley, great-grandson, Justin Stanley, great-grandson, Jordan Stanley, brother, Edward McVey, brother, Kenneth McVey, sister, Peggy Floyd, sister, Jean Slater, sister, Sue Bates and also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Morris officiating. Music provided by Holly Bates and the Blue Ridge Church of Christ Choir. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Gary McVey, Sam McVey, Trey Smith, Andy Bates, Robert Young, and Randy Young. Honorary pallbearers include Curtis Floyd, Dan Floyd, Dean Floyd, Eddie McVey, Bobby McVey, Allen Smith, Tommy Slater, Michael Slater, Stephen Slater, Johnny McVey, Billy McVey and Hugh Middleton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
