City’s Work Session Proves Productive

Police officers at Blue Ridge Elementary, additional officers hired, extra library funding and more was on the agenda for the city’s first work session of the year.Blue Ridge City Council held a productive work session in preparation for their January meeting. Items discussed included an additional $1500 donation to the Fannin County Library, the employment of two additional part time city police officers in order to provide better security at BRES and to increase coverage in the event that an officer is absent from work. The council also discussed a building inspector applicant and relieving Georgia Mountain Health from the water and sewer tap fees at the request of CEO Steven Miracle.

“Whatever we can save with these fees can be used on another part of the project”

said Miracle regarding his request. All of these decisions will be voted on during their regularly scheduled meeting.
