Leona Lovingood : Obituary

Leona Moss Lovingood, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 26, 2012 at Medwest Medical Center in Clyde, NC after a period of declining health.She was a resident of Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Lovingood was a native of Cherokee County where she resided most of her life. She was the youngest daughter of Henry and Rebecca Garrett Moss and she was the last surviving member of her family. She was the widow of Harley Lovingood who died in 1998. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Lockheed Aircraft Corp. and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by son, Troy Lovingood, and his wife, Gail, of Landrum, SC and daughter, Darlene Anderson of Andrews, NC. She is survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Floyd and Lloyd Moss; and sisters, Bonnie Wilson, Ollie Davis, Aileen Underwood, Gladys Moss, and Artie Wilson.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy, NC at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 30, 2012 with the Rev. Harold Stiles officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm immediately prior to the service. Burial will be in Moss Cemetery, Marble, NC.
