Mrs. Florence Roxanne Chapman, age 71, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at home.Mrs. Chapman was born on June 25, 1941 in Gilmer County, GA to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Jessie May Pless Whitaker. She was retired from Levi Strauss as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Chapman was a member of East Side Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Chapman of Blue Ridge, GA; sons, David Chapman and James (Pete) Chapman both of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter, Connie Chapman of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, John Whitaker of Ellijay, GA and Frank Whitaker of Jasper, GA; sisters, Irene Rogers of Jonesboro, GA, Dessie Worley of Ellijay, GA, Betty Carroll of Ellijay, GA, Sue Long of Dalton, GA, Joann Cowart of Chatsworth, GA and Wanda Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Josh, Jessie, Matthew and Krissy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Minister Dennis Morris officiating. Music will be by Sharon Bearden. Pallbearers will be James Long, Gary Cowart, Michael Whitaker, David Whitaker, Wayne Sluder and Jeff Nicholson. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, December 16, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
