Carl Davenport called 911 approximately 5:30 am Thanksgiving morning to report someone had broken into his home, with a gun, and was trying to kill him – then the phone went silent. Dispatch was not able to get Davenport back on the phone. Deputy Michael Early was dispatched to Davenport’s home not knowing what to expect when he arrived. Early’s only information from dispatch upon arrival was that according to the caller someone was in the home and the caller believed the intruder was trying to kill him.
