Fannin County High School FFA students competed with skills and knowledge gain from classroom experience at the Northwest Georgia FFA Floriculture Career Development Event (CDE) . The team competition is a career development event connecting classroom lessons to the horticulture industry. Forty-two teams competed in the identification of plants, equipment, insects, diseases and weeds as well as the completion of a written knowledge exam and problem solving questions. The team ranked bronze and Morgan Long was the high scoring individual for the team.

This event is one of the many educational activities in which the FFA members apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations. The Georgia FFA Association has the third largest FFA membership in the nation with over 35,000 members. FFA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
