Voters approved the charter amendment referendum on yesterday’s ballot.As the writing of this report, at 98.37 percent reporting, 58.50 percent of Georgia voters voted for the charter referendum, while 41.50 percent voted against it. The referendum will amend the state constitution to grant authority to an appointed state charter commission to approve charter schools otherwise denied by local school boards.
