Mr. Ewell Dye, age 67 of Morganton, passed away November 6, 2012 at his home. Mr. Dye was born May 17, 1945 in Fannin Co., GA to Vaugh Dye and Virgie Townsend Dye. Ewell attended the New Hope Baptist Church, he enjoyed working on the farm and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Vaughn Dye and brother, Glen Dye.
Survivors include: son, Scott Dye, son, Brian Dye, daughter, Tammy Hawkins, son, Kevin Dye, mother, Virgie Dye, sister, Jearleene Phelps, sister, Imogeene (Gary) Queen, James (Patricia) Dye, brother, Dillard Dye, brother, Clarence Dye, sister, Joyce (Glenn) Mashburn, sister, Jo-Ann (Jr.) Bell, sister, Sherry (Randell) Monkus, brother, Gary (Dimple) Dye, brother, Clay (Cricket) Dye, and brother, Clayton Dye, nine grandchildren, Carrie Turner, Jessica Jones, Mitchell Dye, Kelly Dye, Waymon Dye, Zachery Dye, Holly Erin Hawkins, Jacob Dye & Emmalyn Dye, also one great-grandchild, Jaedon Jones.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Music provided by the Caylor Family. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers will be Casey Conley, Jeff Allen, Ricky Burgess, Dillard Dye, Billy Turner, Cecil Dockery, Steven Jones and David Hawkins.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm & Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
