Eugene T. “Gene” Davis : Obituary

Mr. Eugene T. Davis, age 75 of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at his residence.Mr. Davis was born April 25, 1937 to Floyd Davis & Ethel Free Davis. He was a member of Cherry Log Baptist Church and was a member of the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge # 67. Gene was retired from Shaw Industries. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, riding in the woods, and his dog, J.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ethel Davis, sister, Juanita Swafford, sister, Blanche Green, grandson, John Tipton.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Lorene Panter Davis, daughter, Loretta Davis, brothers; Ralph Davis, Joe Davis, Jimmy Davis, Ray Williams, sisters; Gertrude Woodard, & Geraldine Hughes, granddaughter, Lori McArthur, great grandson, John Conrad McArthur.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Davis and Rev. Kenny Hagan officiating and music provided by Brenda Milsaps. Interment with Masonic Rights to follow in Old Cherry Log Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Blue Ridge Masons Lodge #67. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Pat Harris, Conrad McArthur, John Conrad McArthur, Kenneth Harris, Kenneth Chastain, Troy Stover, Weldon Thomas, Mitch Thomas, Steve Towe.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
