There were no significant fire calls for the week.
As the weather gets colder, we remind everyone to check and clean their chimneys before starting fires for the first time this season, and also to make sure areas around space heaters and wall heaters are clear of any combustible materials.
This would also be a great time to make sure you have emergency supplies in your vehicle such as, drinking water, blankets, flashlight, matches/lighter, snacks, extra medicine, etc. just in case you get stuck out in the weather. A car charger for your cell phone is one thing that is often overlooked, but could be a lifesaver in an emergency.
