Charles Ed Payne : Obituary

Charles Ed Payne, age 74, of Copperhill, TN passed away Friday, October 26, 2012.Mr. Payne was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late Hayden and Martha Waters Payne. He was a self employed Sawmill Operator and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Linda Bryson Payne of the home; children, Lynn (Donald) Payne of McCaysville, GA, Joyce (Bryan) Allen of Copperhill, TN, Ralph “Sam” Payne and Tammy Hopson of Copperhill, TN, Sandy (John) Hughes of Copperhill, TN; sisters, Pearl (Windom) Hyde and Geraldine Ratcliff, all of Copperhill, TN; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Zion (Tumbling Creek) Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Deal and Rev. Gerald Payne officiating. Music will be by the Kenny O’Neal Family. Pallbearers include, David Hughes, Michael Belcher, Richard Oliver, Jacob Allen, Joe Payne and Justin Payne. Honorary Pallbearers include Hunter Payne, Terry Lee Allen, Gary Lamb and Skyler Lamb. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
