Montie Standridge Helton, age 98, of McCaysville, GA passed away September 22, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Bert and Pearl Standridge of Isabella, TN and the beloved wife of the late Kermit Helton. Montie and Kermit resided in Isabella, TN for over 40 years before moving to the McCaysville area. Ms. Helton was preceded in death by her son, Truman Helton of Wolf Creek, NC and her daughter, Helen Helton Lewis, of McCaysville, GA, her brothers Lake, Ty and JB Standridge and her sisters Marie Siebert and Helen Helton. Ms. Helton was also preceded in death by sons-in-law Roy Davis, Dewey Newman and Don Reinke and Daughters-in-law Betty Martin Helton and Marsha Helton.
Ms. Helton is survived by two sons Jimmy K. Helton and wife Vivian, of Copperhill, TN and Rex Tyson Helton of Copperhill, TN, four daughters, Marlene Moyer and husband Curtis, Arlene Newman, Shirley Parris and Susan Reinke, daughter-in-law Betty Helton and brother Herbert Standridge and wife Lena, and Sisters-in-law Betty Standridge and Lois Gladsen. Ms. Helton is also survived, cherished and loved by nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, September 25 from 6:00 pm – 9:00pm at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA.
Services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 26 at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. Interment : Sweetgum Cemetery, Sweetgum, GA
