Della Bryson : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Della E. Bryson, age 90, of Hiawassee, who passed away Wednesday morning, September 19, 2012, in Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee.

Ms. Bryson was born in Towns County, Georgia, on July 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Orville Bryson and the late Maude McCollum Bryson. She lived and worked in the Atlanta area for 35 years, but had moved back to her native Hiawassee 21 years ago. She was a member of Hiawassee United Methodist Church, and worked at Chatuge Regional Hospital and Nursing Home as a volunteer for many years. Della was also an active member of Hiawassee United Methodist Church where she served in various ministries.

Della is survived by her loving family members: sisters: Corene Shifflett, of Knoxville, Tennessee; Montree Bryson, of Hiawassee; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Sid Manning, of Jefferson, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Aaron C. and Pat Bryson, of Demorest, Georgia; and brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Pat Bryson, of Hiawassee; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee. Burial will be in Burch Cemetery.

Visitation for Della will be held on Thursday evening, from 6 until 9 p.m. Flowers are gladly accepted; if you wish to do so, you may make memorial contributions to Hiawassee United Methodist Church, or Chatuge Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
