The Fannin High School Lady Rebels softball team hosted the Lady Spartans of West Hall for the annual “Pink Out” cancer awareness game. Barbara King, a teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School and cancer survivor, threw out the first pitch. The Lady Rebels jumped on the Lady Spartans early, with lead off batter Missy Dixon, scoring the first run of the night in the bottom of the first inning. Dixon was able steal home, directly after stealing second and third, due to two overthrows on the play.

Candace “Blitzkrieg” German’s RBI double, scored Mallory Deal, who like Dixon reached first via walk. Karly Thompson’s thunderous two run home run shot put Fannin up 4-0, and the route was on.
