Fitts-Queen Calls for Recount
Politics September 4, 2012 , by Daniel McKeonProbate Judge Candidate Julie Fitts-Queen filed for a recount today, according to the Fannin County Board of Elections. The move follows a hard-fought run-off between Fitts-Queen and R. Scott Kiker, where Kiker won a mere 29 more votes than Fitts-Queen. Kiker’s tally was 2383 votes, 50.31 percent, while Fitts-Queen won 2354, comprising 49.69 percent of the votes.
According to Mary Ann Conner at the board of elections, the recount will take place tomorrow at 10:00 A.M. FYN will report the results as they become available.
