Fannin Passes Millage Rate

Fannin County passed its 2013 millage rate in a called meeting today.Earlier this month, the board of commissioners approved a millage rate of 5.16. The five year history, however, was advertised incorrectly, making the vote null and void. As such, the history was required to be advertised for fourteen days prior to another vote.

Having advertised the information for fourteen days, the board held a called meeting today to vote once again on the millage. According to County Clerk Rita Kirby, no changes were made over the course of the fourteen days. The millage information passed for 2013 is as follows:
County 5.16
State 0.200
Board if Education 12.900
Total 18.260
