Richard Harry Haas age 87 of Blue Ridge, GA passed from this life on August 26th, 2012 from his residence.
Mr. Haas is of the Catholic faith, born March 21st, 1925 in Buffalo, NY to his late parents Clarence and Emma Hoppy Haas. He served his coutry honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a corporate engineer with the Zenith Corporation.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years Alice G. Haas of Blue Ridge, GA, daughter; Christine Szata of Blue Ridge, GA, son and daughter-in-law; David and Katherine Szata of Daytona, FL, granddaughter Shayla Morgan of Blue Ridge, GA.
A military memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion in Ellijay, GA with Retired Col. George Pletcher officiating. Burial at sea will take place at a later date aboard a U.S. warship.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Hospice, 74 Ouida St./P. O. Box 2498, Blue Ridge, GA, 30513, in memory of Mr. Haas.
