Elder Dewey Weston Withrow : Obituary

Elder Dewey Weston Withrow, age 82, of Murphy, NC passed away on August 28th, 2012.Born in Mineral Bluff, GA he was the son of Mr. Thomas Dillard and Leora Scroggs Withrow. As a young man he served his country serving in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the TEXACO/Chevron company and moved back to the Murphy area where he had resided for the last thirteen years. He was a retired licensed minister and former pastor of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. He most recently attended Mt. Moriah Baptist in church in Murphy, NC. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Venable.

Survivors include his wife of sixty two years Beverly Hoyt Withrow of the home; daughter, Pamela Jean Venable of Murphy; niece, Louise (Gerald) Kaylor of Murphy; nephew, Danny (Tammy) Kaylor of Murphy; great nieces and nephews, Debbie (Jeff) Helton of McCaysville, GA, Joann Kaylor of Ducktown, TN, Cindy (Michael) Totherow of Murphy; grandchildren, Megan and Shane Venable; great grandchildren, Austin, Devin and Hunter Venable.

Funeral Services will be Thursday August 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Murphy with Rev. Jerry Morrow officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy and Brad Kaylor and Jackie and Susie Arp. Mr. Withrow will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
