Mr. Samuel Leroy “Sam” Myers, age 54, of Morganton, GA passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the VistaCare Hospice in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Myers was born on December 31, 1957 in Bastrop, Louisiana. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Mississippi, and was preceded in death by his father Leroy Myers, Jr.

He is suvived by his wife, Tammy L. Myers of Morganton; sons, Cole Myers of Ruston, LA and Gabriel Myers of Morganton, GA; his mother, Jincy K. Myers of Baton, LA; brother, Timmy Hawkins of Dallas, TX; sister, Donna Whitacker of Dallas, TX; and a grandchild, Mattie Myers.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Willard Sanford and Rev. Alton Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour.
