Mr. James Vernon “Joe” Queen, age 84, of Morganton, GA passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.Mr. Queen was born on December 27, 1927 in Peachtree, NC to the late Rans Queen and Dora Huskins Queen. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Queen; and two sons, Randy Queen and Larry Queen.

He is survived by a son, Jack Queen of Blue Ridg, GA; two daughters, Sue McGill of Taylorsville, KY and Tammy Myers of Morganton, GA; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Glen Rogers officiating. Music will be by the Guiding Light Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Eric Queen, Shane McGill, Gabe Myers, Cole Myers, Mike Zamba, and Don Miller. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park.
