Mrs. Shirley Vondell Phillips Bruschi, age 78, of Morganton, GA passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in the Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA. Mrs. Bruschi was born in Polk County, TN on June 15, 1934 to the late James Addison and Evelyn Deal Addison. She graduated from Cleveland State College with an associate degree as a registered nurse, and she worked at Copper Basin Medical Center and Fannin Regional Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. Mrs. Bruschi was a member of McCaysville Methodist Church, Fannin Regional Hospital Senior Circle, several clogging organizations, and had performed in numerous venues i the Southeast with the Prime Time Choir. Mrs. Bruschi loved flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pietro Paul Bruschi.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James Winston Phillips, MD and Rosalee Phillips of Saint Johns, FL, Earl Lynn Phillips, MD and Marsha Phillips of Atlanta, GA, and John Michael Phillips and Susan Phillips of Summerville, GA; a sister, Frances Wooden of Pikeville, TN; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Terry Reamsnyder officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
