Mrs. Gladys Mabel Bearden, age 96 of Blue Ridge, passed away July 17, 2012. Mrs. Bearden was born October 4, 1915 in Polk Co., Tenn. to the late Thomas Manley Jones and the late Mannie Mae. A member of Macedonia Church of Christ, she was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Manly & Mamie Jones, husband, Carl Bearden, son, Leland Carl Bearden, brother, Clyde Jones, brother, Holland Jones, brother, Jessie J. Jones, brother, Ronald Jones, sister, O’thella Patterson, sister, Rena L. Patterson, sister, Eudean Dilbeck, sister, Florence Ritchie, sister, Bernice Curtis, half brother, Luther Jones.
Survivors include: daughter, Virginia Dillard, daughter, Carol (Charles) Fain, daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Ballew, sister, Jeanette Ritchie, sister, Velma Davenport, brother, Thomas Manley Johns, Jr., 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Minister Bill Johnston, Minister Keith Ritchie officiating. Singing by Bruce Pack and congregational singing. Interment will follow in Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Michael Teasley, Jason Teasley, Tim Teasley, Dewayne Ballew, John Ballew, & Josh Dillard.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
