Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Anderson, age 89, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at her home.Mrs. Anderson was born in Murray County, GA on March 11, 1923 to the late Milton Anthony Harris and Alma Calhoun Harris. She was a member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her huband, Jarrell Barr Anderson and a great grandchild, Chelsea McDaniel.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Nadine Anderson of Neptune, NJ; brother, Harold Harris of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Ruby Penland of Flowery Branch, GA and Jean Ballew of Chatsworth, GA; granddaughters, Cristy Carey and her husband Steve of Flowery Branch, GA, Heather Shelby of Cleveland, GA, and Melissa McDaniel and her husband Steve of Rocky Fale, GA; great grandchildren, Zachary Seabolt, Seth Carey, Ivy Shelby, Aidan Shelby, and Amber McDaniel.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Ed Hampton officiating. Music will be by Zachary Seabolt and Ivy Shelby. Pallbearers will be Seth Carey, Kent Dotson, Steve Williamson, Derrick Bartley, Mike Johnson, and Brian Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hughes, Ralph Stanley, and Paul Fitts. Interment will follow in Anderson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
