The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. Herbert C. Everett, age 77 of Blairsville who passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Union General Hospital.
Mr. Everett was born in Blairsville on December 24, 1934 to the late Erwin & Hattie Everett. He was a man of strong Christian faith and a member of Youngstown Baptist Church for over 25 years. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing and watching an Atlanta Braves game or a good race. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd Everett; and sisters, Ervelene Hedden and Roberta Drake.
He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: Daughter, Pauline Everett of Blairsville; Sons, Herb Everett of Blairsville, David Everett of Douglasville, Georgia, Doug Everett of Lithia Springs, Georgia; Son & Daughter-in-Law, John & Rhonda Everett of Dallas, Georgia; Brothers, Edward & McArthur Everett; Grandchildren: Chad, Chris, Becky, Justin, and Tori Everett and Rachel Coats. Five Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Ned Wilcoxon and Rev. Jonathon Hood officiating. Special music will be provided by Kelley Brewer & Rhonda Hood. The Deacons of Youngstown Baptist Church have been selected to serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
