Local Scouts Pursue Merits

The Board of Education had tow special visitors last week at its monthly meeting, Timothy Stone and Nelson Soriero from Boy Scout Troop 460The visit was part of their effort to earn a merit badge for citizenship, one of numerous needed for the rank of Eagle Scout.

At the end of the meeting, council member Terry Bramlett acknowledged the scouts for their commitment to leadership and the community.

“We are looking to you young men as our future leaders,”

he said,

“and we know that you’re here filling a requirement for citizenship in the community.”

Bramlett called the citizenship badge a very important badge and said that the Board was honored they were there.

He also thanked the parents of the two scouts, Barbara Stone and Chuck Soriero, commending them for their dedication to their children and the scouts, noting that their efforts were fulfilled on a volunteer basis.
