Joy Walker : Obituary

Joy Walker, age 91, of Bristol, TN, formerly of Turtletown, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN.Joy was a native of the Turtletown area and was retired from the Levi Strauss Company. She was a member of the Turtletown Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Thurston and Alma Hensley Taylor, husband, Kenneth Walker and daughters, Sheila Beeler and Brenda Womble.

She is survived by brother Lowell (Barbara) Taylor of Ducktown, TN; sister, June Rogers of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, Rev. John (Stephanie) Beeler of Bristol, TN; great grandchildren, Danielle and Seth Beeler.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 5th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ray Harper and Rev. John Beeler officiating. Pallbearers include, Chuck Taylor, Todd Taylor, Matt Taylor, Michael Rogers, Neal Pickelsimer and Nathan Pickelsimer. Honorary pallbearers include, James Payne and Seth Beeler. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
