Flora Marie Dean : Obituary

Flora Marie Dean, age 71, of Farner, TN, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011. Marie was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Earl and Ella Bruce Loudermilk. She was retired from Levi Strauss where she had worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed quilting among her many hobbies. She was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of thirty five years, Gene Dean of the home; one son Robert (Kimberly) Dean of Turtletown, TN; brothers, Kenneth Loudermilk of Resaca, GA, Jerry Loudermilk of Farner, TN; sister, Dorothy Stinnett of Birmingham, MI; grandson, Cade Dean; nephews, Mark Loudermilk of Maryville, TN; Carl Loudermilk of Resaca, GA. Many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 1st at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Allen officiating. Music will be by T. J. Crowder. Pallbearers include: Frankie Womble, Barry Gurley, Melvin Prince, Norbert Reid, Eric McFarland and Vernon Kennedy. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Marie may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the arrangements
