Carol Wilson Nix : Obituary

Carol Wilson Nix, age 69 of Blairsville, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at her home.Mrs. Nix was born March 28, 1942 in Blairsville, GA to the late Lincoln Wilson and the late Mary Reece Wilson. She was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church in Blairsville and had been a local businesswoman for many years owning and operating Carol’s Resthaven Florist in Blairsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Nix, Brother, Mickey Wilson, sister, Esto McElroy, Brother, James Wilson and Brother, Bill Wilson.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Danny Smith, son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Nikki Nix, son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Kim Nix, all of Blairsville, son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Brenda Nix of Cornelia, Georgia, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Casey Conley of Blairsville, sister, Joyce Collins of Blairsville, Brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and Nancy Wilson of Michigan, sister, Martha Deaver of Haysville, NC, Brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Alice Wilson of West Charleston, SC, sister-in-law, Louise Wilson of Blairsville, grandchildren, Scott Smith, Tavia Murphy, Katie Nix, Kelsey Nix, Karley Nix, Kolbe Nix, and Karis Nix and great grandchildren, Madeline Murphy, Maddox Murphy and Makenzie Smith.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Jim Aiken, Rev. Katie Strals and Rev. Jan Deveraux officiating. Special Music will be provided by James Stephens, Michelle Hughes, Marcia Barrett & the Coosa Sisters. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Frank McElroy, Johnny McElroy, Jackie Jones, Stuart Jones, Jimmy Wilson, Tommy Wilson, Michael Wilson, Mark Wilson, Roger Wilson, Tim Hunter, Devin Chapman, Josh Jones, James Brindle and Anthony Wilson. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
