ETC TV3 Tip Off Tournament Tips Off

Basketball season is here once again, which means that it’s time for the ETC Tipoff Tournament, hosted by the Fannin Rebels.Fannin had the afternoon slot of games on Saturday, as the Rebels and Lady Rebels took on Copper Basin. The Lady Rebels had a “better late than never” sentiment in its matchup with the Lady Cougars, overcoming a slow start in the first half to win its first game of the tournament by a score of 46-38. Senior Amanda Kinser led the opportunistic Lady Rebels with twelve points and tied teammate Mallory Arp with seven rebounds.

If the Lady Rebels’ game wasn’t exciting enough for some in attendance, the matchup between the Rebels and Cougars had to have filled this void. Scoring with back and forth in this one, and even though Copper Basin closed the gap late, Fannin came out on top by a score of 42-36. Junior Will Patterson led the Rebels in scoring with seventeen points, and freshman Jonathan Vecchio led the team in rebounds with seven.

The Rebels and Lady Rebels will try to defend their home court today against Gilmer.
