Mr. James B. “J.B.” Addington, age 91, of Morganton, GA passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 in Fannin Regional Hospital.Mr. Addington was born in Fannin County, GA on November 8, 1919 to the late Robert Lee and Laura Olive Orton Addington. He was a member of Morganton Baptist Church where he served as an usher. Mr. Addington was a board member of Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores W. Addington of Morganton, GA; daughters, Laura Addington of Morganton, GA and April and husband, Dr. Greg Mchan of Morganton, GA; brother, I.G. “Ivan” Addington of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Joyce Addington of Aiken, SC; three grandchildren, Chase and Ragan McHan and Wendy Lou Long; one great-grandchild, Waylon Arrowood.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Keith Jones and Rev. Denise Caldwell officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the North GA Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Greg and Chase McHan, William Chancey, Ronnie Tipton, Orvin and Larry Lance and Richard Daves. Honorary pallbearers will be Delos Horton, Eston Bramlett and the local Board members of Georgia Farm Bureau.
