Mrs. Marjorie Tankersley, age 81, of Morganton, GA passed away Wednesday, November 02, 2011 in the Heritage Health Care Center in Blue Ridge, GA.She was born in McCaysville, GA on August 9, 1930 to the late Willie Stepp and Mary Lou Crawford Stepp. She owned and operated the Economy Sewing Machine Company in Blue Ridge. She was a member of Hemptown Baptist Church, and a member of the Morganton Chapter O.E.S. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved bowling and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Gene Tankersley. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Watson of Morganton, Ga., two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Angie Tankersley of Blue Ridge and Larry and Frances Tankersley of Blue Ridge; seven grandchildren, Larry Tankersley, Jr., Carrie Tankersley, Shea Wimpey, Jennifer Lovingood, Mark Watson, Ryan Watson, and Shane Tankersley; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 3, at 2:00 PM from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Denny Hawkins officiating. Music will be by David Anderson. Pallbearers will be Larry Tankersley, Jr., Ryan Watson, Mark Watson, Shane Tankersley, Ricky Pharr, Dalton Tankersley, Chance Watson and Adam York. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens.
The family will meet with friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Thursday.
