Ezell Albert Queen : Obituary

Mr. Ezell Albert Queen, age 81, of McCaysville, GA passed away on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at his home following an extended illness.Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late Garnett and Elsie Russell Queen. Mr. Queen served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a Boilermaker for the Tennessee Chemical Company for thirty seven years. Mr. Queen enjoyed Fly Fishing, Bass Fishing and Quail Hunting and also wood working.

Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Lorene Taylor Queen of the home; two daughters, Sharon Griffith of Morganton, GA and Debra Chastain of Copperhill, TN; four grandchildren, Sgt. Major Marcus Griffith, Trent Chastain, Matthew Griffith and Adrian Chastain; two great grandchildren, Rees and Nelsen Griffith; one sister, Peggy Galloway of Epworth, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Taylor and Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music will be provided by Doug Simonds. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Marcus Griffith, Trent Chastain, Matthew Griffith, Nick Wimberley, Tommy Cook and Steve Mull. Members of the Local 586 Boilermakers Union will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m.
