The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Everett Davis, age 87, of Morganton, GA who passed away on Saturday, October 08, 2011 at his residence.Mr. Davis was born in Fannin County, GA on December 23, 1923 to the late Tom and Martha Long Davis. He served his country in the United States Army as a combat vet during World War II. Mr. Davis was a farmer. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

He is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Wilscott Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music will be by Jessie and Lena Hill and Charles Hendrix Family. Interment will follow in the Wilscott Cemetery. Military honors will be by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Cody Bradburn, Dillon Ponders, Terry Long, Grady Turner, Charles Hendrix and Reggie Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Quinton Davenport, Dilmus Addington, Brent Warberg and Rick Daves.
