Troy H King, age 93 of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Mr. King was born September 2, 1918 in Blairsville, GA to the late Jess King and the late Minnie Dillenger King . He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Troy had worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps, he was a farmer and also worked for many years at Georgia Boot. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian C. Martin; Brothers: Ovell King, Ed King, Vernon King, Otis King and Jess King: sisters, Bertha Flowers and Artibell Ingram.
Survivors include: wife, Clara Mae Parker King of Blairsville, daughter, Betty Ann (Ben) Hale of Colliersville, TN, daughter, Kathryn (Wayne) Banks of Blairsville, daughter, Jackie (Joe) Hunt of Rockmart, GA, son, Bill (Margaret) King of Meansville, GA, sister, Ollie Jones of Blairsville, Brother, J.B. King of Blairsville.
Funeral services: Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Music provided by: Scott Carter and Justin Carter. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff Ballard, Binkie King, Ray Ingram, Harold Ingram, Larry King and Raymond King. Honorary pallbearers: Wayne Henderson, Wayne Banks, Jack Lance, Ryan Luckie and Joe Hunt.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Sunday, September 25, 2011 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
