The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Barbara Ann Patterson, age 63, of Copperhill, TN who passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Patterson was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late Ernie and Leavy Allen Cantrell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion (Tumbling Creek) Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Patterson.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Patterson of the home; sons, Edwin (Kim) Patterson of Copperhill, TN, Danny Patterson of Copperhill, TN; daughters, Phyllis (Joe) Hensley of Copperhill, TN, Charmell (Robert) Mealer of Copperhill, TN; brother, Ed (Loretta) Cantrell of Copperhill, TN; sisters, Margaret (Tommy) Waters of Chatsworth, GA, Mildred (Hayden) West of Dalton, GA, Betty Brown of Dalton, GA; mother-in-law, Ruby Patterson of Copperhill,TN; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 30th at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Deal, Rev. Gerald Payne and Rev. John Newton officiating. Music will be by Alex and Angie Deal, the Deal Family and Rev. John Newton. Pallbearers include, Brian Arp, Harold West, Scott Waters, Josh Patterson, Carlton Patterson and Daniel Deal. Honorary pallbearers include, Keith Brown, Arvil West, Wesley Cearley, Eli Patterson, Kegan Patterson, Jasper Mealer and Hayden Deal. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
