Edna Lee Millsaps : Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Edna Lee Millsaps, age 82, of the Life Care Center of Ducktown, who passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011.Mrs. Millsaps was a native of Polk County and was a daughter of the late Theodore and Jessie Prather Nichols. She was retired from the Blue Ridge Healthcare where she had worked as a CNA. She was of the Baptist faith and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Millsaps.

She is survived by sons: Joe Hedden of Blue Ridge, GA, Tommy (Janie)Hedden of Blue Ridge, GA, Tracy Lee Jordan of Blairsville, GA, Glenn Jordan of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Sonja Legendre of Mineral Bluff, GA, Denise (Ducie) Waters of Copperhill, TN; twenty two grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 16th at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dickey officiating. Music will be by Joey Cook and Back to Bethany. Pallbearers include, Timmy Hedden, Isaiah Cordell, Raleigh Hedden, Timmy Cordell, Craig Hendrix, Brian Waters and James Waters. Interment will follow in the Bethany cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday after 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the arrangements.
