Ruth B. Postelle : Obituary

The Akins Funeral of Copperhill announces the death of Ruth B. Postelle, age 85, of Farner, TN who passed away Monday, July 11, 2011.Mrs. Postelle was born in Polk County, TN to the late Fred and Flossie Worley Bryant. She was a member of the Croft’s Chapel Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and sewing as her hobbies. She was retired from the Polk County Board of Education, having taught first grade in the school systems for forty years. She was a member of the Polk County Retired Teachers Association. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Tom) Postelle, Jr; brother, Clay Bryant.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann and Rick Nicholson of Turtletown, TN; brother, Ralph (Mary Jane) Bryant of Greenville, KY; sister-in-law, Marie Bryant of Mineral Bluff, GA; grandchildren, Alicia (Daven) Dilbeck, Kristy (Brandon) Shields; great granddaughter, Halle Dilbeck.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 13th at 7:30 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ray Harper officiating. Music will be by Wesley Harris. Pallbearers include, Daven Dilbeck, Brandon Shields, Rick Boring and Steve Boring.

Interment will follow Thursday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. from the Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 7:30 p.m. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mrs. Postelle may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
