Emma A. Dickey : Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Emma Arzona (Davenport) Dickey, age 89, of Blue Ridge, Ga., who died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge.She was a member of the O’Zion Baptist Church. She was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County, daughter of the late Cleveland Judson Davenport and Pearlie Davenport. She was the wife of the late Allen Burton Dickey.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Hicks of Marietta, Ga. and Ruth Ann Moore of Kennesaw, Ga., two sons, Bill Dickey of Kentucky and Jim Dickey of Blue Ridge, Ga., six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers: L.E., Clarence, John, V.L., Wade and Judson Davenport and one sister Mrs. Lemma Argo.

Funeral service will be at Akins Chapel at 3:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2011, with Rev. Terry Thrasher officiating. Music will be by Patsy Beavers. Interment will be at O’Zion Church Cemetery.
