The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Master James Marvin Cantrell, 7 days old, who passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at his home.He is the son of Paul William Cantrell and Windy Stewart Cantrell of Blue Ridge. He is also survived by his siblings, Alvin Davis Warren, Leeya Mehlin Cantrell, and Camille Alexandria Cantrell; grandparents, Marvin and Karen Cantrell and James and Susan Stuart; great grandparents, Esther Shuler Newton, Granny Dot (Deloris) Guthrie, Frank Guthrie, and Vernon Moore; and aunts & uncles, Regina and Aurthur McKinish, Michelle and Gerry Harper. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, James Stewart; maternal great grandmother, Joy Moore; and maternal great grandparents Herbert & Shirley Stewart.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Shannon Spurling officiating. Pallbearers will be Beau Chancey, Daniel Shuler, Justin Emslie, and Trey Beckett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonny Moore, Steve Guthrie, Mike Guthrie, and Keith Guthrie. Interment will follow in Patterson Cemetery.
