Bill Thomas Watson : Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Bill Thomas Watson, age 73 of Epworth, GA who passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at home.Mr. Watson was born in Fannin County on January 30, 1937 to the late Herschel and Sally Jones Watson. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Watson had worked with C.W. Matthews as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Watson.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Mrs. Ina Mae Watson of the home; brothers and sisters-in-law, Miley and Alice Watson of Scottsmoor, FL, Frank and Sheila Watson of Oakhill, FL, Tommy Watson of Dalton, GA and Homer and Mary Watson of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Iva Lee Ledford of Chatsworth, GA, Pauline and Junior White of Blue Ridge, GA, Martha and Richard Long of Blue Ridge, GA and Irene Shipman of Morganton, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hipps Chapel Church with Rev. William Long and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be by Alan Davenport. Pallbearers will be Bill Joe Postell, Jim Watson, Herschel Watson, Larry Watson and Thomas Ledford. Interment will follow in Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 15, 2011 after 1:00 p.m. but especially from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
