The Akins Funeral of Copperhill announces the death of Mrs. Lennie Louise Hughes, age 75, of Farner, TN who passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 in Copper Basin Medical Center. Mrs. Hughes was born on June 6, 1935 in Polk County, TN to the late Oran Wesley and Effie Arhzine Hayes Runion. She was a homemaker and a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by two sons, Bill Hughes and David Hughes; one daughter, Effie Mae Hughes.
Survivors include her husband Dave Hughes of Farner; two daughters, Mona “Mutt” and husband, Larry Goforth of Reliance, TN and Teresa “Pete” West of Tellico Plains; five grandchildren, David Freeman, Ramona Price, Joey Goforth, Aaron Hughes and Daniel Price; four great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at Akins Chapel of Copperhill with Rev. Jim Worthey officiating. Music will be provided by The Sisters (Wanda, Doris and Jeannette).
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill is in charge of the arrangements.
