Arlin Postell : Obituary

The Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy announces the death and funeral services for Mr. Arlin Edward Postell, Age 87 of Red Marble Road, Andrews. He was born in Cherokee County, NC May 27, 1923 to the late James W. and Hassie Totherow Postell. He had worked as a logger and was a member of Red Marble Baptist Church. Mr. Postell was preceded in death by his wife, Hermi West Postell and two brothers.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolin and Roger Franklin, daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Younce, daughter and son-in law, Linda and Charles Wall, daughter, Betty Hooper; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Lavern Postell; son, Stanley Postell and sister-in-law Linda Gail Postell. 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 3p.m. from the Red Marble Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Postell, Rev. Mickey Stewart and the Rev. David Postell officiating. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Terry Postell, Dewayne Wall, Scott Franklin, John Franklin, Brandon Hooper and Nathan Postell. Honorary pallbearers include the following: Justin Postell, Bud Postell, Doug Postell, Howard Postell, Coy Postell, Roy Postell, Alan Postell, Alan Kirby and Jamie Hooper.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday at the Red Marble Baptist Church from 1p.m. until the funeral hour. The Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Arlin Edward Postell, age 87, of Red Marble Road.
