The Fannin High School Lady Rebels’ soccer team won the 8AA Region Championship when Holly Worford scored the first, and only, goal of the game with 24.6 seconds left in the game. The Lady Titans came out hungry and aggressive. There were two North Oconee shots on goal within the first two minutes. The Titans took control of the ball, beating the Lady Rebels to loose balls and posting a plethora of shots on goal. Fanning goal keeper, Hope Cochran, however, had her hands on the ball more than Greg Anthony at UNLV.

Despite a clear advantage in shots on goal, the Lady Titans were left scoreless throughout the contest because of Cochran’s continuous Dwight Howardesque shot blocking,.

After the first scoreless half, the Lady Rebels no longer played the Lady Titans tentatively. The home team was much more aggressive in the second half. Much to the delight of the frenzy filled Fannin crowd.

The Lady Rebels survived the Lady Titans tenacious defense, and countered with a Rebels rise in defense, as well as several Fannin shots on goal that missed the mark.
